Swabi lies between the Indus and Kabul rivers, in the Pashtunkhwa (NWFP) of Pakistan. MajoritS9�h�K� Mandnrr Yousafzai clan of Pashtuns have been living here for centuries. The History and culture of the Swabi is very rich. The People of Swabi are famous for thier Long-time affiliation with Pashtun Nationalist Forces and for thier sacrifices in independence movement with khudai khedmatgar Tehrik, they are fair in complexion with rugged expressions as most Mountain People in Pakistan appear.

Swabi is a huge market for the tobacco while the other cash crops are vegetables, wheat, sugar cane and maze. Apart from these all sorts of fruits are found here.

The famous Tarbela Dam and electricity power house is located in Swabi. Swabi is also the house to one of the most prestigious institutes of the country namely Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in the town of Topi.

Swabi is located in the Pashtunkhwa (NWFP)Province of Pakistan. It is a big a district with beautiful mountains and the mighty Indus (Abaseen) running through it, irrigating its fertile land. As God Almighty has blessed Swabi with fertile land, most of the people are associated with agriculture. Wheat, Sugar Cane, Tobacco and Maize are main agricultural products especially the Tobacco is of very good quality and leading national and multinational tobacco companies have their factories and warehouses built here. Lately, more and more people are going abroad for jobs and are sending a good amount of foreign exchange home thus directly contributing to the economy of Pakistan. Their favorite destinations are Japan, UAE, Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom. Apart from agriculture, Swabi is also rich with mineral resources and its white marble is very popular throughout the country.Before partition, Hindus also lived here.
